Carol Jean Garland
Carol Jean (Servance) Garland, 82, passed peacefully on June 12, 2020. Preceded in death by her husband, Peter Garland, (also a Wilson H.S. Graduate.)
A Long Beach native, Carol attended Naples, Rogers and Wilson H.S. She attended Long Beach City College then San Jose State where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in teaching. After 33 years Teaching in the LBUSD, she spent many happy years volunteering at her granddaughter's schools.
Carol and Peter made their home in Westminster for over 50 years. Carol enjoyed vacationing in The Pacific Northwest and keeping in touch with her friends.
Survived by son, Chris and his wife Karen and granddaughter, Emily Garland; daughter Therese and husband Rodney, grandsons Anthony and Evan Eten.
In lieu of flowers, donations to be directed to The "Purple Pig" Foundation for Disabled Children to help them Walk, Talk, See and Play. Donations "In Memory of Carol Garland" should be mailed to Garden Grove Elks Lodge, 11551 Trask Ave., Garden Grove, CA 92843.
Carol will be interred next to her husband at Rose Hills Cemetery.

I met Carol a couple of times while visiting Florida. We all went out for dinner, the first time and the second was a very early breakfast before our plane home. Im sorry we havent had a chance to get to know each other better. Carol was a sweet and welcoming lady. Condolences to the family

So many memories growing up on Choctaw Dr. Carol was one of moms on our street that just seemed to look after all us kids. She was a sweet and kind lady who loved her family. She will be missed. Chris and Therese please accept my sincere condolences.
