Bernadette Christine (Dougherty) Moore, born on Halloween 1956. She passed away peacefully on April 10, 2020, surrounded by her family.
Bernadette was born in Whittier California where she and attended St. Gregory the Great school, 1st – 8th grade and Monte Vista High School, 9th-12th grade. Bernadette attended San Diego State and graduated from Cal State University Fullerton.
She began her successful 45-year career in the grocery industry with Alpha Beta Markets as a clerk's helper and was promoted to a 1st apprentice clerk after graduating from high school. Bernadette was promoted several times during her career. She was an assistant Store Director for Ralphs Grocery when she retired. Bernadette was passionate about her job working in the grocery industry where she made many lifelong friends.
Bernadette was married to the love of her life Harold William "Bill" Moore on 11/2/1996. Together they spent wonderful days together sailing to Catalina and annual trips to Cancun to scuba dive, laugh and relax with their many friends. They loved to visit Moonstone Beach in Cambria every year to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Bill passed away on October 17 of 2014.
Bernadette was incredibly talented and enjoyed making craft projects for her friends and family. She loved the holidays especially Halloween and Christmas even though they were they busiest time of year for the grocery industry.
She had a lifelong love for music and attending concerts with her sisters, especially Bruce Springsteen concerts! She was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and loved following the Dodgers.
Bernadette is survived by her mother, Patricia Dougherty of Murrieta Hot Springs, sister Patricia Norton of Aptos, sister Colleen Stevens of Ventura, and brother Bernie Dougherty of Big Bear Lake. Additionally, Bernadette will be missed by her stepson Bill Moore of Pennsylvania and his wife Tracy and her three grandchildren, Devon, Samantha, and Emily, as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, brothers in law, sisters in law, and a large loving family. She is survived by her favorite companion and obedient dog Trixie.
A celebration of her life will be scheduled when appropriate and safe for her family and friends to attend.
