Virginia (Ginny) Lloyd, 93, of Huntington Beach, passed away May 13 due to pneumonia and stroke.
She was born May 11, 1922, attended Lowell Elementary School, Rogers Middle School and graduated from Wilson High School in 1940.
She was employed by the U.S. Navy.
She was married to Mickey Lloyd from Aug. 3, 1944 until his death in 2009
She is survived by her children, Larry and Dan, grandchildren Lucas, Eli, Courtney, Lindsay and Gregory, and great-grandchildren Joy, Isis and Devyn.
A long time Long Beach resident, Ginny loved her home, her extended family and her many, many friends. She had a passion for travel throughout her life. Talking about future travels excited her even if they were only for a weekend in Palm Desert. Her activities included golf, tennis, bridge and mahjong. She was fond of animals and a lover of jazz.
An excellent cook, she cherished any opportunity to dine out or attend a social gathering. She lived and loved a full social calendar or just enjoyed talking on the phone with family and friend.
Services are private. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the City of Hope in Ginny's memory is appreciated.
