Each morning, Stu biked along the paths and neighborhood streets of Long Beach on his Townie, sporting his red helmet adorned with a GoPro attachment. Stu was born in Santa Monica; grew up in Pacific Palisades and was a graduate of Palisades High School, USC, and CSULA. He was a highly respected Paramount USD teacher and a 25-year resident of Belmont Park. Paramount USD, LB Memorial Hospital, LB Airport, the Yes We Can Democratic Club, CA senatorial and LB mayoral campaigns, Lowell Elementary, California Retired Teachers Association, AAUW Long Beach and our neighborhood were just a few of the recipients of his passion for making the world a better place using his volunteer talents with computers, video and Spanish. Stu was smart, funny, creative and kind; a loving husband and dog dad and a steadfast friend. He will be greatly missed. Stu leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Frances Rozner; his sisters, Ellen Hattis (Ron) and Andrea Roberts (Marty); and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. If you wish to honor Stu, please vote this fall and consider a gift to the Memorial Medical Center Foundation or the Pico Union Project in LA.
