Floyd W. WIlder Obituary
April 3, 1925 - August 20, 2014

Floyd W. Wilder passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in Long Beach, CA at the age of 89. Born in Sayre, OK on April 3, 1925, he was the seventh child of Tom and Georgann Wilder. He married his wife, Barbara Wilder, in 1950 and was blessed with seven children. His family is ever growing with 13 Grandchildren and 20 Great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, and three of their children. He is survived by four of his children, Sharri Wilder; Laurie Coggins and her husband Michael Coggins; Tom Wilder and his wife Cece Gaines; and Francine Beanan and her husband Greg Beanan.
Floyd's joys included his children, riding his bike, and studying the Bible. He was a 20-year Navy Veteran and retired as a Radar Master Chief. The Navy taught him organization. A place for everything and everything in its place. You could count on things being put away in the same place every time! Following the Navy, he was a U.S. Postal Worker for 14 years before he retired.
He loved motorcycles. He rode across the country a few times, and even up to Canada, with his wife happily riding on the seat behind him. He was a "do-it-yourself" kind of man. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix . . . and he'd be happy to teach you what he knew.
In the last 15 years his passion was bicycle riding. He learned everything he needed to know about putting them together. He was an inspiration to many people who were surprised to learn he was still riding seven miles every morning.
He was very religious and was ready to go whenever the Lord called him home. He was a fine man and father who we all looked up to. Much loved, he will be dearly missed.
