Delores Charlotte Strom, 95, of Fort Dodge formerly of Long Beach, CA died on November 16, 2013 at the Simpson Health Center in Fort Dodge. Her memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday November 27, 2013 at the Celebration Center at Friendship Haven. Arrangements have been entrusted with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband Phillip Strom; her son Eric Strom; her parents Herbert and Mabel Crinnigan and her brother Dwayne Crinnigan. She is survived by her sister-in-law Vivian Crinnigan and her children David Crinnigan, Carol Crinnigan, Sue (Joe) Black, Ann Crinnigan and Bill Crinnigan; her nephew Bruce (Gail) Crowley and their children Laura Lee and Elizabeth Crowley; her niece Joan (Greg) Olson and their children Jeffrey (Jennifer) Olson, Jennifer (Matthew) Stromberg and Emily Olson; 12 great nieces and nephews and 15 great-great nieces and nephews.
Delores was born in Fort Dodge on June 12, 1918 to Herbert and Mabel Crinnigan. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1936. She married Phillip Strom and they made their home in Iowa City where Phil attended the University of Iowa
and was a member of the Ironman football team. They later moved to Long Beach, CA. In 2008 Delores moved back to Fort Dodge returning to "her roots". She was a loving homemaker, enjoyed the musical career of her son Eric, loved gardening and was active in Republican Women. She was one classy lady with a great sense of humor and made the best pies and carrot cake in the world. She will be dearly missed by her family.
